Reaching new heights with 3D

Reaching new heights with 3D

At the beginning of this project, father and family man, Sebastian, wanted to spend more time in his garden with his children. Sebastian came up with an idea to build a treehouse for his son Noah, 6 years old, and little girl, Joséphine, 3 years old. Being the best dad in the world, Seb didn’t stop there. He decided to build a climbing wall to access the treehouse, and what’s better than using 3D printing to accomplish it?!

The small family embarked on this project. First, they found the right tree to install this house: neither too high for the smallest, nor too low for the biggest. Then they constructed the climbing wall. For the structure, the wall is supported by the tree and three support beams. And finally, they added a rope for climbing!

Here again, the magic of 3D printing is demonstrated: the 3D files for the handholds already exist, the family just had to choose their favorite. Once the handholds were printed using the Neva printer, they were screwed onto the wall, and just like that, the 3D printed climbing wall was complete!

Since the 3D printed climbing wall was built, Noah and Josephine spend most of their time in the garden. The climbing wall has even become the preferred means of access to reach the treehouse. The house is now one of the favorite playgrounds of family friends as well: imagine the pride of the father.

When the path becomes too easy, 3D printing allows the climbing wall to evolve into something more challenging. For the more adventurous, small handholds and large spacing will be perfect. For the prudent, the big handholds will be more reassuring.

The climbing wall printed in 3D: tested and approved! This is a fun-filled project, that will get the whole family involved, and demonstrate all the cool and impressive uses for 3D printing.

Another very nice usage of our Neva!

AND YOU, WHAT IS YOUR SUPER 3D PRINT PROJECT? 🙂
