Functioning

In order to guarantee excellent print quality, the cooling system for the material yarn deposited at the nozzle outlet is essential. This allows for better surface conditions, a more uniform potting of the material, without sagging, especially in the case of “bridges” and finally a better printing of plumbing.
To achieve such a result, we have completely rethought the ventilation system of our print head. We replaced the centrifugal fan that blew both on the nozzle body radiator and on the outlet material with two axial fans, each independently performing these two tasks.
The first, at the front of the print head, is mounted directly in front of the radiator. It draws air from the front, well above the printing area, ensuring an air intake at room temperature. The air is then pulsed between the radiator blades and ensures a very efficient cooling of the material, considerably limiting clogging cases. The air is finally expelled on the side of the head, thus removing calories outside the head.
The second fan is placed at the back of the head. It also draws air well above the printing area to ensure room temperature air. The incoming air flow is then divided in half, compressed and accelerated before exiting through two orientational openings on either side of the nozzle head. The air flow is thus channelled into the target work area and the material is cooled in an optimal way.

Note:

In order to make your old discovery200 compatible with this print head, you must replace the tray holders with the available version here. Think about printing them beforehand!
